“Louder than a Bomb” is the world’s largest youth slam poetry competition, sponsored throughout the Chicago region each spring by UCSC nonprofit partner Young Chicago Authors. LTAB hosts over 1,000 youth poets for a month of Olympic-style poetry bouts, workshops, and special events. Students representing schools and community groups in the Chicago area perform original solo and group poems in a tournament-style competition. The competition culminates in an epic showdown between the finalist teams at a major Chicago venue.
Chicago Studies is able to provide a limited number of FREE tickets to members of the University of Chicago community (students, faculty, staff) and to high-school-aged students participating in our partnering youth programs in Woodlawn and Washington Park, as well as staff members from those youth programs.
The 2018 Louder than a Bomb Team Finals will take place on March 18, 2018, from 6-9 PM at Chicago's historic Auditorium Theatre (50 E. Congress Parkway). Ticket recipients may travel from campus on a bus provided by Chicago Studies (departure from Hyde Park at approximately 5 PM, return at approximately 10 PM), or provide their own transportation to the venue. Please indicate your transportation preference when signing up for your ticket(s) below.
