The UCSC and Chicago Studies are pleased to offer our Spring "South Side Sustainability" Bike Tour, exploring the ways that faith, commerce, transportation, and the natural environment have sustained the deep South Side. The tour takes place in the spring quarter and is entering it's 3rd year! It is led by the Undergraduate Dean, John Boyer, and Political Science Professor Mark Hansen.
The tour, which routes south from campus to 98th Street and then returns along the lakefront, includes stops such as St. Michael the Archangel Church and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in South Shore, Calumet Park, the Bikur Cholim Synagogue, Crowley's Yacht Yard, the historic Southworks US Steel site, Jackson Park, and the South Shore Cultural Center.
Stay tuned for more information about this spring's tour, which will take place in May 2018.
