REPORTING FROM WASHINGTON D.C.

Sara Jerome is a fourth-year Comparative Literature major and is writing her A.B. paper on speeches by Barack Obama and Nicholas Sarkozy. She is a Chicago Maroon news editor.


Laurel Mylonas-Orwig is a fourth-year HIPS major and has interned for the Chicago Tribune and WTTW TV, Chicago.

Chris Salata is a fourth-year visual arts major with a focus in photography and documentary video. He is also photo editor for the Chicago Maroon.

Katie Buitrago is a fourth-year Public Policy Studies and Latin American Studies major. She is also features editor at the Chicago Weekly and Publicity Director at WHPK.

Ella Christoph is a second-year English major. She is also a senior news reporter for the Chicago Maroon and teaches creative writing to children in Hyde Park.

Rachel Cromidas is a second-year Law, Letters and Society and Art History major. She is also a writer for the Chicago Maroon and the University Community Service Center.

Hannah FIne is a first-year student who expects to major in International Studies or Political Science.

Thalia Gigerenzer is a fourth-year International Studies and South Asian Languages and Civilizations major. She also is the Co-Director of South Side Scribblers, a student-run organization that teaches creative writing to children and adults on the South Side.


Kelin Hall is a fourth-year student, majoring in majoring in Law, Letters and Society. She also writes for the Chicago Maroon.

Tal Kopanis a fourth-year Law, Letters & Society major with a minor in Visual Arts. She is also editor-in-chief of Noyes Magazine and has interned with WTTW-TV and WLS-TV in Chicago.


Michael Lipkin is a second-year Law, Letters and Society major. He is also news editor for the Chicago Maroon.

Claire McNearClaire McNear is a second-year Political Science major. She is a “Viewpoints” editor at the Chicago Maroon.

Supriya Sinhababu is a third-year Geography major. She also is an arts editor and a news writer for the Chicago Maroon.

Arieh Smith is a first-year presumptive computer science major. He likes writing and reading, but really, considers himself a consummate dabbler.

Cela Sutton is a third-year student majoring in History. She also works with the Organization of Black Students and the University Community Service Center.

Juan-Pablo Velez is a fourth-year Sociology major.

Chase Weldon is a first-year student, expecting to major in History and minor in English and Creative Writing. He also is involved in the Community Service Leadership Training Corps, the Organization of Black Students and the Chicago Maroon.
