The Future of Chicago Nightlife

A Chicago Studies Conversation

How can Chicago’s drag queens live to “slay another day” when the clubs are all empty?  During the COVID-19 pandemic, drag shows, dive bars, dance parties, and other late-night entertainments have been put on hold due to social distancing measures. How has this affected the artist-performers, producers, and venue staff who work in nightlife? How are these industries adapting to meet the demands of the moment?  Which of these changes are here to stay?

Our conversation will feature legendary Chicago drag performer, DJ and event producer Matthew Harvat (AKA “CircuitMom”) and Edwin Martinez ("CircuitSon"), Senior Production Manager for CircuitMom Productions.  Attendees are eligible for two drawings for gift cards to upcoming Circuitmom Productions!
