Spring 2022 Programming

As warmer weather returns to campus this Spring, Chicago Studies invites you to explore the city for yourself! Our Spring programming offers a multitude of ways to directly engage the city, including the continuation of our Urban Hiking series, which will explore Chicago's architecture, history, and ecology, our Spring Southeast Side History Bike Tour with Dean Boyer and Professor John Mark Hansen, and our Earth Month programming which includes plant swaps and restoration workdays!

Those who prefer to do their learning indoors can join us for workshops on researching and writing Chicago, including weekly BA-focused writing time (with staff on-hand to answer your Chicago research questions) during Writing Wednesdays in our Urban Lounge at 1155 E. 60th St, which will culminate in the Chicago Research Prize and Colloquium, as well as our signature cultural events including local literary readings and film screenings. Join us all this Spring for programming and events that expand your knowledge of Chicago - and help you see it firsthand.
