As the College emerges from the pandemic and returns to Chicago, Chicago Studies invites you to re-discover the city we call home. Our Fall programming offers a multitude of ways to engage the city. Outdoors buffs can wander neighborhoods in the Great Chicago Drift, mount up for our 24th annual Chicago History Bike Tour with Dean Boyer, and explore Chicago's architecture, history, and ecology in monthly Urban Hikes. Those who prefer to do their learning indoors can join us for workshops on researching and writing Chicago and our inaugural Urban October Lecture, complemented by opportunities to learn and socialize (i.e. eat) during weekly Open Studios and bi-weekly Chicago Fridays. Join us for programming and events that expand your knowledge of Chicago - and let you see (and even taste) it for yourself.

These events are open to all invitees regardless of vaccination status and, because of ongoing health risks to the unvaccinated, those who are unvaccinated are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures advised by public health officials (masking and social distancing, etc.). Public dining may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others, including venue staff, and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
