Abigail Kremer

Program Administrator | Senior Financial Analyst

As Program Administrator, Abigail Kremer (Abi) manages the broad range of Chicago Studies' operations.  She provides logistical and financial support for course-based experiential learning; maintains Chicago Studies’ grant-making and fulfillment processes; supports communications and promotion; and coordinates logistical details in support of key team activities such as Orientation, co-curricular events, and the convening of scholars around Chicago-based projects.  While she spends the majority of her time supporting instructors (whose pedagogy and coursework she loves supporting), she always jumps at the opportunity to talk to students about their work and to help them advance their dreams of bringing it to broader audiences, whether through academic and/or non-academic platforms.  She joined the Chicago Studies team in Summer 2023.

In addition to her business acumen (and love of spreadsheets and data structures), Abi brings a passion for writing and editing to the Chicago Studies team. Coming from the University of Illinois at Chicago (where she not only studied, but also worked as a researcher, writing teacher, and tutor), Abi values the rigorous and thoughtful dissemination of information and frequently supports the publication of Chicago Studies' projects (including students' research). Studying Professional Writing in her Bachelor’s, and then moving on to Rhetoric and Composition in her Master’s, Abi can provide advising to student writers and researchers who seek to communicate both qualitative and quantitative data. Her highest priority in editing is thinking about the reader in every piece of literature. From research papers to magazine articles, receipts to billboard advertisements, Abi helps authors utilize clear accessible information to ensure that their research doesn’t just stay within the confines of the university, but opens access to the general public.
