Safety

At Cultural Institutions in Chicago

Amidst uncertain times, we still want people to enjoy the city of Chicago this fall--but, of course, be safe while doing it. Below are the resources to be safe at museums, parks, venues, and more.

Visit this webpage to see what UChicago buildings--including museums and recreational centers--are currently open. As of now, the SMART Museum is the only cultural institution on campus to open, with limited capacity and tickets needed to be purchased in advance.

Wherever you go, don't forget your UCID!

Museums in Chicago

While in Phase 4 of reopening, museums in Chicago are operating at 25% capacity: galleries will each have capacity limits, and most will have one-way paths to avoid overcrowding. Face masks and social distancing of at least 6 feet are REQUIRED for entry into all museums.

Please reserve all tickets in advance on museum websites, and do not go to the museums if you feel unwell or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms at the time of your visit.
