This Japanese BBQ spot attracts customers from all over the city
One of the many food spots in Albany Park, Chicago Kalbi specializes in Japanese BBQ, also known as Yakiniku. Known for its selection of meats and dedicated chef--Isao Tozuka--Chicago Kalbi has a dedicated pool of customers.
Originally trained as a French Chef, Tozuka desired to branch beyond his initial teachings and explore Japanese and Korean cuisines. After expanding outside of the realm of French cuisine, Tozuka and his wife decided to bring the taste of authentic Japanese barbeque to Chicago.
Popular items on the menu include the Panjun--a savory pancake with squid, beef, and green onions--and the various selections of beef. For those diners who want to let the chef take the wheel, "KOBE BEEF made in USA" offers a selection of cuts that make up a full meal. While the dinner items are enough to fill anyone up, don’t skimp on dessert. With options such as classic green tea ice cream or the authentic cream anmitsu (Japanese sundae), the sweet side of Chicago Kalbi’s menu completes the dining experience.
